Vote Against Disincorporation
Save Reno. Do not let your voice be silenced.

Progress Is Within Reach
Reno is our home, and we believe in keeping it strong. Disincorporation won’t fix our challenges—it will strip away local control and leave our future in the hands of outsiders.
Instead of giving up, let’s work together to strengthen Reno with responsible leadership and community-driven solutions. Join us in protecting our city and our voice.
Can I VOTE AGAINST Disincorporation but FOR THE TAX REDUCTION?
YES! Saving Reno is the priority. If you believe the increase is too high, vote for the rollback. If you believe the tax increase helps the city, vote against it. These are two separate measures.
Key Issues
With disincorporation, we would lose local control of six vital areas.
Water
- MYTH
A private water company will improve services.
- FACT
A private water company can charge increased rates—and you’ll have limited say when water bills skyrocket. Private companies answer to investors, not residents—meaning higher costs, fewer protections, and no local say in how your water is managed

Roads
- MYTH
Parker County will take over road maintenance and improve conditions
- FACT
The county has stated it does not have the current manpower to maintain Reno’s roads in a timely manner. Expect delays, potentially years before completion, and road repairs that follow county priorities, not Reno’s specific needs.
Loss of Zoning
- MYTH
Losing zoning laws won’t significantly affect our community.
- FACT
Texas counties cannot legally have zoning laws. That means you lose all control over what gets built next door—RV parks, overcrowded developments, duplexes and fourplexes, industrial sites, or even pig farms could move in.

Fire Protection
- MYTH
You lose nothing by disincorporating.
- FACT
Staying incorporated protects residents’ future power to choose between our existing Reno Briar Fire Department or ESD1. Disincorporation robs you of this choice.
Plus, Parker County has no fire codes—disincorporation puts your home at risk!
Police Protection
- MYTH
The Parker County Sheriff’s Department can provide the same level of service as Reno’s Police Department.
- FACT
If Reno dissolves, you will have slower response times, fewer patrols, and more crime from less police visibility.

Taxes & Your Finances
- MYTH
You’ll save a ton in taxes and be financially better off.
- FACT
You will still pay city taxes until all debts are paid—but without city services. When city taxes finally go away, increased county taxes, trash and water costs will reduce tax savings.
Your home value will decrease.
