Vote Against Disincorporation

Save Reno. Do not let your voice be silenced.

Thank You, Reno.
Now we move forward!

The election was close, and it showed just how deeply our community cares about Reno’s future. While we stood on opposite sides of this question, we all want the same thing: a government that works for its residents. We may disagree on the method, but we’re united by the desire to make Reno a better place for everyone.

If you voted, either way, we respect you for doing so. We had a historic turnout. That is important civic participation. Everyone—no matter how you voted—can stay involved. Attend meetings, bring ideas, help us move Reno forward. Become part of the solution.

There’s room for improvement—and now, with the vote behind us, the city must roll up its sleeves and get to work.

Now, we must turn our energy toward fixing what needs fixing — our roads, our water system, and our city services. That’s what the voters expect. That’s what the city must deliver.

Thank you for voting!

Water

A private water company will improve services.

A private water company can charge increased rates—and you’ll have limited say when water bills skyrocket. Private companies answer to investors, not residents—meaning higher costs, fewer protections, and no local say in how your water is managed

Roads

Parker County will take over road maintenance and improve conditions

The county has stated it does not have the current manpower to maintain Reno’s roads in a timely manner. Expect delays, potentially years before completion, and road repairs that follow county priorities, not Reno’s specific needs.

Loss of Zoning

Losing zoning laws won’t significantly affect our community.

Texas counties cannot legally have zoning laws. That means you lose all control over what gets built next door—RV parks, overcrowded developments, duplexes and fourplexes, industrial sites, or even pig farms could move in.

Fire Protection

You lose nothing by disincorporating.

Staying incorporated protects residents’ future power to choose between our existing Reno Briar Fire Department or ESD1. Disincorporation robs you of this choice.

Plus, Parker County has no fire codes—disincorporation puts your home at risk!

Police Protection

The Parker County Sheriff’s Department can provide the same level of service as Reno’s Police Department.

If Reno dissolves, you will have slower response times, fewer patrols, and more crime from less police visibility.

Taxes & Your Finances

You’ll save a ton in taxes and be financially better off.

You will still pay city taxes until all debts are paid—but without city services. When city taxes finally go away, increased county taxes, trash and water costs will reduce tax savings.

Your home value will decrease.
